This season is so wonderful. It's full of new traditions, yummy baked goods and days of laying around the house with my sweet family.

Here I am...learning as I go, making a lot of things up, but having a great time.

It's been my dream for a long time to work with flowers but it took me a long time to actually start. Flowers are expensive and I'm self employed so I work with what I can. hello september

I'm not sure why it being September excites me. Maybe because I'm ready for fall to come or because I'm a bit closer to my birthday month. Anyways, I'm filled with a lot of joy these days. There is so much that contributes to that joy but I'll talk about the obvious reason. I'm in the midst of starting an event design business with a friend. Serving people by designing things and maybe making a little money in the process. For those who know me know that I design everything whether it's a dinner party or my kitchen shelves. I just love putting things together to create something that was once not. So I've had dishes, and glasses, and candles, and greenery all over our living room floor these days. Luckily, Jake can deal with this.

Well, our kitchen is finally coming together and looking like a kitchen. This is GOOD. I've almost freaked out a couple times from having no space to bake or cook or put dishes. We finally have a table built and just need one more for my baking area.
Feeling productive.

berry picking at Thunderbird

 

Today started off with some berry picking with Bryan and Jake with intentions to make a pie. Instead we made some blueberry cornbread which was just as delicious but a little less fattening. If you've never been to Thunderbird Berry Farm, you need to go. Their prices are very reasonable at $3 a pound and on some days they do a "pick three pounds and you keep the third free" deal. I will most definitely be returning :)
