fresh blooms

Sitting here dreaming of some fresh spring blooms.
I picked up these beautiful Protea flowers to pair with my wax flowers and snapped some of the last photos on my roll.
As much as I enjoy picking these beauties up from the market, I am so excited to be planting  Ranunculus, Dahlias, Zinnias, and more that will be decorating our wedding come June.

Jake and I went to the salt plains with our fellow photographer friend Daniel. It was closed so we didn't get to drive in and explore as much as we'd like. Afterwards we climbed a mountain and I almost had a heart attack.

I see more adventures like this in the near future.

a few of my favorite things

I've told myself today that I don't need to focus on one certain thing.
It seems like everyone around me is so fervently driven towards one certain thing, or maybe a couple of things. Lately I've felt like I'm not greatly talented at anything. But I know I enjoy a lot of things so I will pursue all of them. Today I picked up some flowers and went through some of my "future boxes" and took some photos. Because I wanted to. Here is a photo.

 Jake and I are setting up our house with lots of lovely plants and flowers. It's amazing that we're going to be living here in four months. I can hardly wait :)

Lately, I've been asking myself a simple question. What should I be putting my energy and focus in to? It's really not that simple of a question after all because I simply can't answer it. There are so many things I enjoy and so many things I want to learn that I'm finding myself getting discouraged If I don't do them all at the same time. Maybe I should focus on my photography, or possibly start knitting more...or maybe I should start really getting a hold of the wedding plans?
I simply don't know right now, but I do know that I want to do them all.

Please excuse my random photo post of the day. We are working on our house and Jake is making a table and Carlisle is playing with his dog and my plants are happy and I'm photographing it all.
Oh, except the photo Jake insisted on taking as we were leaving the house. These photos were all taken with our lovely new Pentax 645.
